Emergency stops are crucial in business environments and should not only be used for controlling risks, but also as a back-up to other machine safety and control measures in order to guarantee safety.

Emergency stops should be fitted to all machines on your factory floor, with the exception of:

• Where an emergency stop control would not reduce the risk of operating the machinery, either because the stop would not reduce the stopping time, or it would not enable other measures to reduce the risk.
• Any hand-hand portable or hand-guided machines. This is due to the impractically to fit stop controls on such devices.
